Emergency First Response Teams (EFRTs)

How to become an Emergency First Response Team member.

NIPISSING DISTRICT EFRTS

Emergency First Response teams, currently consisting of approximately 40 volunteers, serve rural and remote areas of our district. These individuals are trained and certified in basic life support and have enrolled in a 48 Hour EFRT course certified by the Ministry of Health & Long Term Care.

THE TEAMS

We have four Volunteer Emergency First Response Teams that are based out of:

  • East Ferris
  • Field (West Nipissing)
  • Phelps
  • Thorne Eldee

EFRT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

As an EFRT volunteer, you are bonded to your local paramedic service and provide primary care until the ambulance arrives.

In order to be part of a team, you must: 

  • Get a criminal record check 
  • Hold a Class G license
  • Have proof of immunization
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
